California is the BEST. I think most people think of California as being defined by LA, Hollywood, San Francisco etc. the big cities that have made a name for themselves on the world stage. But there is so much more to California and one of the best ways to see this is with a drive along Interstate 1 from LA to San Francisco. The scenery is spectacular and can change often as can the weather. Small towns have hotels/motels and B&B for accommodations but an interesting option for this drive could be renting an RV. Omak is home to the World Famous ‘Omak Stampede’ held in August with the Suicide Race featured in a Disney movie. There is also a large Native American pow-wow with traditional dancing, drumming, games and food, we are going to try and be there this year. Washington State back roads are great way to see things off the beaten path, the roads are excellent and fuel is around $3.00 a gallon.
